Cardiac holter-monitoring

Holter-monitoring is the recording of your rhythm as an electrocardiogram (ECG) within a 24 hour period.

Indications:

  • subjectively perceptible arrhythmias,
  • clarification of the nature and frequency of movements recorded on the ECG,
  • arrhythmias after a heart attack,
  • evaluation of the effectiveness of treatment against arrhythmias,
  • cases of unexplained weakness or losses of consciousness.

The study makes it possible to assess the round-the-clock heart rhythm and possible arrhythmias outside the doctor’s office, in a normal environment for the patient and while performing normal activities.

The registration device is small and compact, and fastened to the area around your heart (if necessary, excess hairs are shaved). While data is being recorded, you are free to move around, but you should avoid intense activities such as exercise. The patient is advised to keep a diary (date and time), activities (sitting, walking, exercising, eating, sexual activity, taking medications, etc.) and symptoms (pain or discomfort such as back pain, chest pain, nausea, dizziness, other discomfort) when wearing the Holter C3+ monitor.

Showering, swimming or visiting a sauna while wearing the device is prohibited!

The patient may not remove the device. The device will be removed by the nurse the next day – about a day after being put on.

Cardiac Holter or ECG monitoring for a 24 hour period is free of charge with a referral from a family physician. A summary of the results will be sent to the Health Portal, the results will be commented on by your family physician. If necessary, it is also possible to book an appointment for a paid cardiologist’s appointment at our clinic.
