At your visit, a dermatologist or skin doctor will advise you on various skin problems and, if necessary, prescribe additional examinations and treatments. You should contact a dermatologist, i.e. a skin doctor, if you are experiencing the following problems:
Various skin diseases:
- SKIN RASHES;
- SKIN INFECTIONS: skin infection, i.e. impetigo and ecthyma; nail bed inflammation; folliculitis; carbuncle; furuncle, i.e. boil; erysipelas, i.e. rosacea;
- FUNGAL SKIN INFECTIONS: dermatomycosis, candidiasis, mycosis, thrush;
- PARASITIC SKIN INFECTIONS: scabies, lice;
- VIRAL SKIN INFECTIONS: cold sores or HSV-1 and HSV-2 (herpes simplex), shingles (herpes zoster), molluscum contagiosum, common warts or warts, genital warts or condyloma;
- BIRTHMARK EXAMINATION;
- ACNE.
In addition, you can contact a dermatologist, i.e. a skin doctor, to examine birthmarks and other concerns involving skin. The dermatologist uses a dermatoscope to perform diagnostics of various skin lesions and examine birthmarks.
