Gynaecologist
Women of all ages are invited to visit a gynaecologist, i.e. women’s doctor.
It would be a good idea to consult with a gynaecologist for the first time before becoming sexually active with the aim of receiving advice on the use of contraception. If you are already sexually active, you should visit a gynaecologist at least once a year. It is also a good idea to visit a gynaecologist if you change sexual partners.
In the case of gynaecological conditions or belonging to a risk group, we recommend that you consult a gynaecologist more often, on a case-by-case basis, in order to establish a personalised frequency for visits.
During the visit, the gynaecologist or women’s doctor will engage in:
- the prevention and treatment of gynaecological conditions,
- counselling on family planning and contraception,
- supportive care for menopause.
An ultrasound examination can be performed on site.
